| Thank you for your continuing prayers. I have finished my 3rd round of cancer treatments and all is, according to the staff, going extremely well. I have a torn rotar cuff and will be seen about this next week as well as the beginning injections in to both knees which could lead to my getting out of my wheel chair for a "short" time...I believe totally in Our Lord and Savior and will not look at a specific time, but at what work I can do that my Father wants me to do. At the moment he keeps reassuring me that I can work on an Emmaus Walk. Sylvia Townsend |

| Please keep JoAnn McAllister in your prayers. She is having an irregular heart rate, dizziness, and fatigue. She is currently on medical leave from her job and is undergoing diagnostic testing. Pray for a diagnosis to be confirmed and that our loving Abba Father will place His healing hands upon her. Sue Briley Please be in prayer for my 22 year old son, Kyle. Last week a hole was discovered in his heart and he will undergo a T.E.E Test (ultrasound of heart) in the morning to assess the damage and prognosis. Please pray for peace, healing, and for God's perfect will to be magnified in this situation. It's a great comfort to know such prayer warriors are at work! Thank-you! Marlyse Stewart Please keep Melissa Gildon's grandmother, Billie House, in your prayers this week. She is currently waiting (and waiting) today at the hospital for heart tests. | Please keep my husband Ken (97-24) in your prayers. After an awesome Mother's Day service at our church, we came home to find
that Ken's family had been trying to call for several hours with news that his mother's health was rapidly failing. Upon returning the call, we found that she had passed away at 12:10 p.m. Remember Ken and his large family when you talk to our Father. Rev. Jill Daniel (97-25) Prayers are requested for Bobbie Baker, Walk #2 in 1993. She will be having gastric bypass surgery Wednesday morning May 11 at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. She will probably be in the hospital at least a week so your prayers will be greatly appreciated. Jim Baker Walk # 1 in 1993 Please pray for Travis Ballew. His parents are longtime friends of ours. He is in his early twenties and is in a Denver hospital on a ventilator. He has a massive staff infection and needs open heart surgery as soon as he is able to withstand it. He is extremely critical and he and his parents need our prayers. He is their only child. Tim (04-74) and Connie (04-77) Bullock Please pray for my husband, Chance (05-79) He is going through some rough times, a few bumps in the road but I know God is in his heart and he will make it through. Thanks for your prayers and support. Stefanie Hunter (#03-70) Please pray for my Daddy, Boyd Akins. I don't remember his walk number, but he is suppose to work this upcoming Walk 05-81. He is in Wadley Hospital room 228. He was having some fainting and dizzy spells for several days and yesterday was diagnosed with irregular heart activity. The cardiologist feels like he can correct it by changing his medication, so we are hopefull, too. Just pray for God's peace and guidance as he puts Daddy back in sync and for the team and pilgrims for Walk 05-81. I can feel your prayers already. Brenda Potts Walk 01-50 |

| Update on Baby Fuchs...First, let me say thank you for your kindness and love through all of your prayers. I could not imagine waiting without knowing that so many people were praying. I do not know how to say thank you enough for the time that
you have spent praying for our little one. God is truly in control and knows exactly what is going on. He had prepared us for anything. We knew that His loving arms would hold us through the rough times. His promises are amazing! Our genetic counselor called today and gave us results of our amniocentesis. THE WAITING IS OVER!!!! yeah!!!! Our baby is fine. No Spina bifida! No down syndrome! I asked about the tiny spot on the heart...she said that it shows up in 2% of babies and turns
out to be nothing. We are in that wonderful 2%. I asked about the arm and leg length and she said that we will go back for a 6-8 week checkup. They will check the measurements again and more than likely they will be normal. If the measurements are still in the lower portions of the average we will just have a baby that probably won't be an NBA star. Who cares if our baby
is our baby is short, right? As long as it's healthy! Thank you! Thank you Lord! Also, our little one is a little boy. His name will be Cade William Fuchs. Bobby and I have liked that name for a very long time and can't wait to hold little Cade in our arms. Many kisses coming this baby's way! I will continue to update all of you. Thank you again for your thoughts and
prayers. Hilary Fuchs 05-80 The little 4 year old from Mt. Vernon.....Madisen Hatch and her mommy are on their way HOME this afternoon! Praise God. Maddie has had no ill effects at all. The doctors want to see her next Monday for a check up and then the Monday after that. They told her "no contact sports for six months". Her liver seems to be healing just fine. God is so good...............all the time. Elaine Knoop 97-19 |

| Our sister in Christ, Virginia Hanusa (04-77) has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will have a mastectomy on Wednesday, May 18. The surgery will be here in Greenville. She will then be taking chemotherapy treatments after the surgery. She asks that we all keep her in our prayers for God's awesome presence with her at this time. Thank you and God bless each of you for your faithfulness. Diane McMeans (95-13) Norman Clark was a legal assistant and good friend of Julie Wright (NET walk # 03-68) in Amarillo, TX. Norman and his family are in desperate need of your prayers. Norman's son, Isaac, who is 15 years old, has been diagnosed with a cross of A.L.L. leukemia and Burkett's lymphoma. Biopsies performed on his liver and bone marrow today are positive for cancer. Karen ~ a victim of this dreadful disease ~ went to BSA ( hospital in Amarillo) to be with Norman and offer her support. She took Isaac's hand and told him she is a 5-year cancer survivor and reminded him that he is on God's timeline . forget about the statistics. She made him smile!! (Karen's neighbor/friend is the BSA oncology charge nurse so Karen will get her involved with Isaac, too.) Karen said the type cancer Isaac has is one of the worst and most aggressive . not good. Isaac will begin a 30-day treatment of very aggressive chemotherapy tomorrow. I am asking all you prayer warriors to lift up this young man for healing and strength for his parents in the coming days. Julie Wright (03-68) |

| I am again asking the Community to pray for a friend of my daughter, Laura. Ketrell Hatch works at the First National Bank in Mt. Vernon with Laura. Last night her four year old daughter Madisen Hatch was taken by Care Flight to Children's Hospital in Dallas. She was kicked by a horse and has a lacerated liver. The latest report is that the main artery that feeds the liver was badly damaged and the liver is going to die. The doctor's told Ketrell that they would wait a week and then Maddie will have to be put on the list for a liver. As you can imagine, Ketrell is hysterical. Laura and another co-worker are heading for Dallas as soon as they get off work tonight so they can sit with Ketrell. Please lift this family in prayer and pray that somehow Maddie's liver will recover. Elaine Knoop |

| Please keep Teri Stover and her mother in your prayers. Teri is bringing her mother home from Jacksonville, FL where she has been hospitalized with pneumonia. They are taking 2 days to travel. Please pray for a safe trip. Alice Young 00-46 Hilary (05-80) and Bobby went to Houston today for the special ultrasound to determine whether or not the baby has spina bifida. It does not. And we praise God for that. However, the specialist saw a combination of things which could suggest Downs Syndrome. So an amnio test was done. It will be ANOTHER 10-14 days before they know the results from THAT test. They did not even get to find out whether or not the baby is a boy or a girl. The baby was acting like a little monkey and neither the nurse, nor the specialist could make it cooperate! Hilary and Bobby asked me to pass this information along for them. They are so very grateful and mindful that many, many prayers have helped them through this so far. We will keep you posted, as we know. Sam/Elizabeth I just wanted to thank you for all the prayers, calls, cards and emails I received during the loss of my dad. I was blessed by each one and comforted by your words. I thank God for this wonderful community that has so graciously been the body of Christ to me during this very difficult time. Much love to all of you. Tammye Jones |

| Thanks so much for all your prayers! Conner has received a clean bill of health. The second dr. concluded that he does not have leukemia. Just a weird virus that is very treatable. We believe it was the power of prayer that turned things around for him. We asked that people pray for complete healing, and that is what Conner has received. God is good -- all the time! His parents were so touched and strengthened by all of your emails and the fact that so many people and church groups that didn't even know them have been praying for Conner. May God bless you all! | My daughter, Hilary Fuchs, just went on this past weekend's Walk 05-80. She said she knew the Lord sent her for a reason. She took a second set of blood tests today and will hopefully get the results back by Friday. PLEASE pray with us that the tests are wrong and that this precious baby will be born perfectly normal and healthy. We thank you for loving us through prayer. Elizabeth "Sam" Calhoun #03-66 |

| I'd like to ask for prayers for our 5-year-old nephew, Conner McClintock. Yesterday he was diagnosed with leukemia. Next week his parents will find out what kind it is and what treatments are available. Please put Conner on your church prayer list and ask that they keep praying for him through this ordeal. His family is wonderful and precious, but they do not have a church family. So I'd like to pass on to them how many of you and your churches are praying for them. We all know how important it is to feel God's presence at these times. Please email me the name and city and state of your church once you get him on the prayer list so I can let them know. They need to feel the comfort and power of God now. Right now Conner's family lives in Denton, TX. His dad, Dan, is starting a new job in Kansas on Monday which they've been excited about for some time. With yesterday's news, I know it is going to be so very hard for him to leave his family to start this new job. His wife and the 2 kids they have at home were planning to finish out the school year in Denton, but this may change their plans. Please pray for one of God's miracles and complete healing for Conner. Becky McClintock 99-41 |

| It has been a while since I have given an update on Scott. We were waiting on M. D. Anderson to make the decision about another surgery. The top most vertebra is cancer diseased and the doctors wanted to repair it to prevent its severing the spinal cord, His blood clotting time as well as being anemic kept postponing the surgery. His condition has continued to decline since almost immediately after the surgery in August. At first he seemed to be getting better, but almost as soon as he was dismissed from the hospital his health started deteriorating and continues to do so. He is so run down and weak now that surgery will not be an option. His oncologist said that some radiation and steroids could possibly reduce swelling of the spinal cord and give him some strength back in his legs. They will not support him any longer. He has been hospitalized twice recently because of high calcium. The cancer that is attacking his bones releases the calcium into his blood stream and this causes problems increasing his confusion, making him sluggish and wanting to sleep all the time as well as being dangerous. When he was released this past Friday, our doctor in Texarkana suggested Hospice to help make him more comfortable and to give me some help. A nurse came out on New Year's Day and started working with us. They are a fabulous
organization with many, many resources - personnel as well as supplies, medicine, ideas, etc. I am not sure what the future holds, but it is not good for Scott. He cannot get better and the cancer cannot be cured nor treated effectively. Today he says he is not hurting so that is good. Hospice works with the doctors on his medicine and they have taken him off some of the ones that really make him sluggish prescribing others to replace them. Not sure though how much of his abilities will return. His thought process is very slow and most times he cannot finish his thought as he has forgotten where he was going or else he cannot bring up the correct word. We have trouble communicating. Unless it something simple, I cannot understand what he needs or is saying, except when I can read his mind. Which I can do sometimes - after all we have been married 38 years and have finished each other's sentences for many years. We have lots of help. My family is pretty well wrapped up with taking care of my Mother. My two sisters take turns staying with her at night and a
great niece and my brother as well as the same two sisters have day duty. Her round the clock care has been going on since June and our family feels that she needs to be in her home as long as we possibly can keep her there. But one brings me food and lots of delicious bread and homemade cinnamon rolls. They give support where they can, but are limited because of Mother. Friends from church bring me food - Scott is eating only a bite or two a day - they stay with him to relieve me and my brother has been good about coming once a week and giving me the afternoon off. I don't know what else to report except that Scott is not Scott. He is tired and not in a frame of mind to fight. His stubbornness is not evident. Your love, support and prayers are appreciated. | The power of prayer is once again so awesome. I just received word about Tom Chennault. He is stable and will most likely have surgery today. He has two broken jaws that will have to be put back together, but the good news is that he did not have a brain concussion. He is in Parkland Hospital in Dallas. I am not sure about when the surgery will take place, but should be today, as they have gotten a team of doctors together to do it. Please continue your prayers for wisdom for the doctors and peace and encouragement for Charlotte. Diane McMeans |

| Many of you know Lynnette Engh has been battling breast cancer for the past six years. Lynnette, a Missouri Synod Lutheran by birth, was married at Our Redeemer and both of her children, Christina and Erik were baptized and confirmed here. During her courageous battle with this disease, she has undergone multiple surgeries, stem cell transplant, radiation and chemotherapy but the cancer has continued to invade her body. In recent weeks, as she realized that she was losing the battle with cancer, her heart's desire was to go home to Rochester, Minnesota for Christmas. The plan was for she and Christina to drive to Rochester on December 17th. However, on December 14th she was admitted to the hospital with acute renal failure. It was learned that her cancer had grown to the point that it was obstructing the flow from her kidneys. As her condition became weaker, many of us knew that Lynnette's Christmas dream probably would not materialize. I would be happy to share with you the entire story some time but it would take a while to do so. The abbreviated version is that on December 21st I flew with Lynnette and Christina to Rochester, Minnesota in a private jet that was donated, by a volunteer pilot fueled with gas that was paid with donated dollars. God provided a doctor who was "coincidentally" on call Christmas week and available to accept her care. God also saw to it that Lynnette's renal function was restored to the point that her Longview physician would allow her to travel. He also gave us clear weather and strong tail winds so that we arrived in Rochester in an extraordinary 3 hours and 10 minutes! As we taxied into the Rochester Airport, 12 of Lynnette's family members were standing there all bundled up with huge smiles waving to greet the plane. Lynnette had tears rolling down her cheeks and kept repeating over and over, "I'm home, Brenda, I'm home." After returning to Longview, I hugged the pilot and told him that I truly did not have the words to express my gratitude for everything he had done. "You don't need to thank me" he said, "This whole thing has been a Christmas miracle! I will never forget this day and I was honored to be a part of it." As I drove toward home, I felt the same way. | Please, Emmaus Community, lift me in your prayers. I have been separated from my husband for 7 months now, and see no solution to the separation. I am living in Ohio with friends, and take care of an 86 yr old lady with dementia. I could no longer stay with my husband due to many difficulties. Please help me cope. I have panic attacks, and a great Physchologist, and Doctor. I miss my adult children, who want me out of their life, and I miss Winnsboro, and Texas. Blanche Riddle 96-15 |

| As I write this note, I keep hearing the words to the Spirit song, "Oh, let the Son of God enfold you with His Spirit and His Love" and that's where my family has been during this past week. My husband, Mike (Walk 98-27), had a stroke on December 21st. He has lost his speech and the use of his right side, but the good news is that he is now stable, that his swallowing was not impacted in any way and that mentally, he is very sharp and clear. We anticipate moving to Rehab sometimes this week. Therapy is now so advanced, but we know that there is a lot of work to do and a long road ahead of us and we ask for your prayers as he continues the recovery process.
We are so thankful and feel very blessed for the support of a loving family and so many friends and that God provided a caring, devoted medical team. It's truly been Prevenient Grace in action. Martha Scott NET 93-2 |

| We have recently learned that my sister's husband, Jeff, either has a tumor on the brain or has an annurism. Jeff is 33 years old and has 3 small children, ages 10, 5 and 9 months. Jeff has been a part of my family for the past 17 years....since I was 8 years old....so he's not just an in-law to me, he's my brother...our family is an emotional wreck right now...we are hoping and praying for the best, but preparing ourselves for the worst....either way it goes, he will more than likely have to have surgery, which will be a great risk.....please keep him in your prayers...thank you. Carrie Wright #04-77 |

| Please be in prayer for Lesa Kesterson, Walk 01-52, and her daughter Ashley. Ashley is 22 and will begin chemotherapy next Monday for tumors in her brain that are causing her to quickly lose her visual field. These tumors have been present for about 10 years but have never been a problem until the past few weeks. She has been to doctors in Texarkana, Dallas, and now Houston. If the tumors respond to chemo it will be at least a year long treatment. Please pray that the tumors will respond and that God will give them both the strength and peace that they need to endure this trial. Brenda Potts 01-50 |

| My niece, Amanda Meadows, has been experiencing health problems for over a year now and the Doctors cannot find the origin of her problem. She has been having severe passing out spells. She has made numerous trips to the ER via ambulance and one by our Lifenet helicopter. She has been to Baylor in Dallas and Children's in Little Rock. She and my brother and sister-in-law leave Tuesday for the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Amanda is 15 and this has been difficult for her. Please pray for Amanda, her Mom and Dad, and the Doctors. It is so wonderful to be a part of this Community where you know many, many prayers are lifted up. I do not think I have ever witnessed the "work" that prayer does like I did on my walk, 03-66! May God Bless you and may your prayers and the concerns of your hearts also
be lifted up to God! Malissa Meadows |

| I just got a call from my daughter Laura. Eric Emery was apprehended in Arizona and Joey is with the kids right now. Evidently they had been camping somewhere in Arizona and he traded in his truck on an RV. He told the dealer (and the kids) that Joey had died of
cancer. He used his original ID/license and somehow the paperwork got mailed back to Mt. Vernon to his "home address". Eric is now in custody. Anyhow, Bo Pilgrim flew Joey out early this morning in his private jet and they are supposed to land at the Mt. Vernon airport between 4-5 pm tonight! I'm praising God right now and I thank all of the Emmaus Community for your prayers for those kids. There were times over the past two months that I was ready to give up hope of them ever being found. But each time I just kept sending those prayers up and I knew that they just had to be found. So hug your kids a little tighter tonight and give thanks that Joey will be
hugging hers too! Elaine Knoop 97-19 |

| Skipper Lumpkin, Walk 02-56 would like the prayers of the community. She will be going for further testing for a growth on her thyroid. Kathy Chambers I am having a really difficult situation at work that has been going on for a while now and is really taking its toll on me. I am normally an outgoing type of person, but I have found myself getting increasingly withdrawn. I have prayed daily that this situation could get easier but it doesn't. I really don't know how to pray about it anymore. Molly Pate |

| Jill Stone from Paris, attended walk 03-68 in Lone Star. She is 28 weeks pregnant with twins and was careflighted to Baylor hospital a week ago because she went into labor. They are keeping her there until she delivers. Please lift her, the babies and her family up in prayer. They want to stop her labor for as long as possible. She has 2 little girls at home with Dad and Grandma who really miss their mom. Kelly Turner 03-66 I am praising God today for the prayers and friends that I have come to know in our community. You are so wonderful, it makes no difference who you are, if you need prayer, need to feel God's love or see the face of Jesus, you can always call upon the people of the Northeast Texas Emmaus Community to be there for your. God has brought me though 4 by-passes, put my feet on his sturdy rock and lifted me up again. Thank you so much. May God continue to bless each of you. You will always be a very big part of my life. | Please pray for Jennifer Jackson who is in the hospital in Tyler with viral pneumonia. Her mother is from Avery, Tx. and her name was Jolene Belt. Jennifer was misdiagnosed a week or so ago and got very ill this weekend and was taken to the hospital. They say the antibiotics aren't working and all they can do is keep her comfortable and go day by day. It looks bad but we have a God who is bigger than this and I ask you to pray for this young lady. I have not been on a walk yet but am going on the one next week. Thank you for your prayers! | Bill Means, from Tennison Memorial in Mt. Pleasant, (Walk on 04-74); has been diagnosed with cancer in one of his tonsils. He will have surgery on Wednesday, November 3 at Baylor Hospital and will be there for 2-3 days. After 2-3 weeks of recovery, he will begin radiation for 6-8 weeks. Please keep Bill and his wife Mollie in your prayers. Charles Matkin Donna Owens (Texarkana) is reported to be doing "very well" after her heart surgery. She is in Room 224. Please keep in your prayers, Ann Thaxton (04-75) and her family. Her grandson, Matthew Stuck was badly hurt at football practice yesterday. His leg was broken in four places, with a check mark break in his ankle, 2 spiral breaks along with his growth plate being crushed. He is to have surgery this afternoon at Children's Hospital in Dallas at 2:00 PM. It is to take 1-1 1/2 hours. He is in pain, but thankfully is on pain medication. At this time, the doctors are going to try to set his leg rather than to put a steel rod in his leg, as he wants to continue to play football next year. Thank you for your prayers and I will let you know how he is doing. God be with each of you as you go to Him with this concern. Diane McMeans 95-13 Thank you all so much for your prayers for my dad and our family. I wanted to give an update. On Friday the 15th of October he had a really bad cramp in his leg. It got bearable for him that night. Saturday he still had a little cramping, but was ok. That night his foot turned purple so they went to the hospital. They immediately took x-rays and told him it was a blood clot. They tried several different things, but it was stubborn. It gradually moved up his leg and blocked off his calf as well. On Monday night he started to have Kidney failure and respiratory distress. They took him off all medicine and prepared him for surgery. Tuesday morning they amputated his right leg just above the knee. They did MRI's on his other leg and his abdomen because what they found was an aneurysm in his artery. My father has had leg cramps for as long as I can remember. We found out that he has had blood! clots, not cramps, all along. Praise the lord that it was just his leg! He was moved to a rehab hospital yesterday for his first day of therapy. They told him that he is already 80% where he needs to be to go home. He is in very good spirits and can't wait to go home. Your prayers are working!! God is good all the time. He has a long road ahead of him, but to get over this hurdle so quickly is a blessing. Thank you again for all your prayers. | Please continue to keep our mother, Dorothy Bunch, in your prayers. She continues to be weak and practically refuses all nourishment (clear diet)--she doesn't like the broth, she's tired of Jello and drinks small amounts of Sprite and water. She is really not herself right now and really needs prayer to feel God's love. Tomorrow is her 79th birthday. Thank you all for your continued prayers and notes of support and concern. Nancy Rooks and Annette Horne God is so good...I just heard from Ann Thaxton (04-75), and her grandson (Matthew Stuck) made it through surgery at Children's in Dallas with flying colors for his broken leg. When the surgeon got into Matthew's leg, the growth plate had already begun to mend and the breaks in Matthew's leg just fit back into place. Isn't youth wonderful, with good bones and especially the love and protection of God. Please keep Ann and her family, especially Matthew in your prayers. Matthew may be facing some pretty tough pain, but the pressure from the bones being out of line has been relieved, and it appears that Matthew will be fine. Thank you so very much for your faithful prayers. Diane McMeans (95-13) |

| You all have been so aggressive in your prayers for Mother this past summer and she is so appreciative. This morning (Wednesday) she will have surgery to reconnect her colon. Dr. Michael Hines is her surgeon and is a good Christian. He asked for prayers for him and we ask for prayers for Mom. She is almost 79 and Dr. Hines has told her that I may take her longer to bounce back this time than it did the last. Please pray for both and for us--Annette, Christi, Vicki and me--that we have the strength and patience to help her heal properly. (sometimes Mother is very demanding, obsessive/compulsive, and downright unreasonable!) So we all need prayers. Thank you in advance for all your thoughts, prayers and concerns. Nancy Rooks (97-21) I just learned that my dad, Don Kimberly, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL had to have his leg amputated today. I don't know all of the specifics, but I do know that he needs all of our prayers. This is a very sudden thing that none of us were expecting. I'll update when I know more. Thank you so much. It gives me great comfort to know that I have all of you. God Bless you. Vanessa Glenn (03-68) |

| Please pray for my good friend Veronica. She is having a lot of problems with her son right now. She really needs prayers for her and her son. Cindy White Madison Custer (Maddie), Glenda Mendoza's 8 year old granddaughter is in need of urgent prayers. She has a ruptured appendix, has become septic, has been airlifted to Children's Hospital of Dallas and the doctors are trying to balance when to do surgery with letting antibiotics do their work to lessen some of the infection. As of 6:30 am, this morning (Tuesday), Glenda said surgery is expected shortly. Please pray for precious Maddie and strength for her parents, Glenda, and the rest of the family....and for wisdom of the medical professionals. Trica Parker |

| Dear friends...we spend so much time complaining and needing prayers answered, but this morning I am truly praising the Lord and counting my blessings!!!!! We had a very traumatic experience last night that could of ended up very tragic, so i DEFINITELY have to praise God for his angels and protection over Jared. Last night around 9:30 pm Jared was robbed by a person who had asked him for a ride. This was a very scary and traumatic ordeal for Jared, BUT I COUNT MY BLESSINGS THAT HE IS ALIVE TODAY! Who would of ever believed in the small town of New Boston this would happen? Please pray for Jared to mentally be able to recover from this strange and unusual incident. Kim Staats |

| Please join in prayer for the Baird family of DeKalb, TX. Michael and Melissa have a 6 month old little girl named Caroline who cannot eat. She only weighs about 12 pounds, and her parents are going to have insert a feeding tube once again. The doctors in Texarkana believe that it is reflux, but nevertheless, she can't eat and must endure a feeding tube in order to gain weight. They were to see a doctor in Dallas this week but had to reschedule for next week which means the feeding tube again this week. Please pray for a solution, for strength and energy, and for guidance for this young family and their doctors. They are, needless to say, overwhelmed and so grateful for your prayers. | Please lift up in prayer two friends of mine who are dealing with cancer. Jimmy Gaffney is a friend I went to school with and have known for many years. In August he was diagnosed with colon cancer and had resection surgery. The cancer has spread to his liver, and he is currently taking chemo. Richard Wright is another friend and co-worker who has been dealing with small-cell carcinoma for over a year. He took radiation treatments that we thought were successful at first, but now the cancer has spread throughout his body. I am not sure about the prognosis. Please keep both of these men, their wives and children in your prayers. Brian Thompson |

| I would like to thank the Community of Saints who were so kind and prayed for me these past few weeks. Today my doctor was very optimistic. He believes that the "lesion" which he had thought malignant is actually either a benign cyst or possibly even a stress fracture. I will see him again in 2 months for follow-up. GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! May Abba bless each and every one of you. Sue Briley Please add my husband's family to the prayer list. His 91-year old grandmother (Vera Catherine Kegley) passed away this morning. We have no fears for her, for she was a wonderful Christian woman. But, the family needs prayers of strength in the coming days. Thank you, Jesus, for knowing when it is time. Sheila Kegley Emmaus Walk #99-38 SCOTT MEDLEY IS TO BEGIN HIS RADIATION WEDNESDAY. | Blessings to all you prayer warriors! Please continue to pray for Sue Briley. She has more tests scheduled Friday morning including a bone scan, chest scan, and chest x-ray. The tests today were inconclusive. She meets with the doctor again next Monday to discuss the results of her tests. We both believe that no amount of medicine can compare with the power of prayer. Sue Lambert I have some news regarding Eric Emery and his three kids. According to Joey's parents, Eric was spotted in a convenience store over the weekend, in Livingston, Texas and he had the baby with him. The clerk identified both Eric and Sydney from their pictures. The police think he is camping out somewhere around there. He is still driving the black truck. They are waiting to get him when he is with all three of the kids. Please keep uplifting this family with prayer. I spoke with Joey last Friday and she thanks everyone for praying for them. Elaine Knoop 97-19 Please pray for a friend of mine Jeanette Treadway. Her brother has been diagnosed with a brain tumor that is not treatable and has six months to live. | Our dear, dear sister Lynette Engh has taken medical leave from the hospital. Lynette was diagnosed with breast cancer six years ago. Last year during Glenda Mendoza's Walk, she was diagnosed with bone metastisis. She took chemo, lost her hair, etc and fought so hard. Then, in January this year they found a mass wrapped around her aorta, in the neck area and a few more spots. Again, they changed her chemo therapy. A few weeks ago they found that the mass in her neck has spread to her head. She has terrible headaches, slowing of speech and drooping of her eye lid. She is again taking chemo but it is purely palliative not curative. The doctor has told her that she has 6 to 12 months to live. The prayer of her heart is that she will live to see her daughter Christina graduate from high school - that is about 20 months away. I know all who know Lynette - love her - she is such a fighter and such a courageous person. Please include her in your prayers - for peace, comfort and if God wills, 20 months. Brenda Sanders |

| Please ask the group to pray for our church - FUMC Deport, TX. We are going through some changes and there is resistance and ugly behavior going on. Pray for God to work in the lives of the congregation that we might seek to be the church that we are called to be. Pray for peace and goodwill among the members and for wisdom to deal with the ones who want to stir up trouble. Rev. Vivian Crowson Thank you to all of you who are praying for Joey Emery and her missing children. They have been gone a week now and we have had no news as to where they might be. Rumors were flying late last week, but it was nothing but rumors. The children are now listed on the web page for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (www.missingkids.com) Eric is listed on the "America's Most Wanted" web page under "fugitives". | Well the "rest of the story" as they say is hitting the tv and newspapers today. There is now a felony arrest warrant out for Eric Emery. He took money from the bank on Saturday while he was working. Still no word on the three children and his wife is beyond hysterical as you can imagine. My daughter Laura and the other bank employees are in total disbelief that this could happen. Please please continue your prayers for these children. I can't possibly imagine what Joey is going through right now. For pictures of the kids, go to www.kltv.com and click on "father kidnaps three children". We talked last night about holding a candlelight vigil in Mt. Vernon, but I don't have any details yet. Thank you for your continued prayers. Elaine Knoop Walk #97-19 |

| Please be in prayer for my friends, Larry May, his wife, Linda, and their children. Larry collapsed from a heart attack at the Texas High football game in Tyler on Friday night, and is hospitalized in Tyler. (They are from Texarkana.) He has yet to regain consciousness, and the outcome doesn't look favorable, as he went without oxygen for several minutes. We all know that the Great I Am performs miracles everyday, so I'm asking that the Emmaus community bathe this sweet family in prayer. Carol Ann Mattingly #98-29 Please keep Joey Emery in your prayers tonight. She still has not heard from her husband or where her children are. She has a little girl age 7; a son age 4 and a girl 18 months old. A lot has been going on today and an Amber alert has been issued. I can't go into details now, but it looks like Eric took the kids and ran. Elaine Knoop Walk #97-19 I'm asking for prayers this morning for a situation that is in progress. Yesterday at noon, Eric Emory, an employee of First National Bank in Mt. Vernon left to visit his grandmother at the Mt. Vernon hospital. He had his three small children with him. He has not been seen since. His wife Joey works at the Horizon Pharmacy in Mt. Vernon. She tried all afternoon to reach him on his cell phone and she can not get him. At 7:30 last night she called my daughter Laura to see if he had stopped over there to see the baby. Laura and Eric work together. Laura started alerting bank employees and they checked with the alarm company to see if anyone had been in the bank. No one had. At midnight they got a bank officer to go and start checking Eric's ATM card for transactions. As of 8:30 this morning, no one has seen or heard from Eric. He did not have the kids diaper bag with him and one of the girls was barefoot. Obviously Joey is hysterical. Eric drives a Black Ford Ranger, extended cab. There are two little girls and a little boy with him. If you see anything, please call me at 903-342-6873. The police will not issue an Amber alert because the kids are with their father. | Scott is having a lot of pain. Since traveling is a strong contributing factor, we are going to stay at the hotel that connects direct to the hospital. We will stay Sun & Mon nights. Then I will be back at Bert & Susan's. Lots of tests are scheduled for Monday - early 9:30 (well not too early) but also one at 8 pm. Lots of waiting time. Another reason for the motel. His only comfort is lying down. Tuesday they will do the embolizaton in the am and then keep Scott overnight and surgery 8:30 on Wednesday. They are like any other hospital, their idea of starting and mine are not the same. So really don't know what time they will begin. It will be a long day for all of us. Rose and Jay (Scott's sister and her husband) will be here with us. He started taking morphine yesterday, so hopefully he will feel some better today. Also not eating. Will work on that today if he is feeling better. Keep us in your prayers, as well as the doctors. Jerry Medley |

| I just spoke with Debbie Warren today after the funeral of her niece Emily and her great nephew Hunter who were killed in an automobile accident in Greenville Wednesday evening. Emily's daughter (Alexia - age 5) was also in the vehicle and remains in critical condition at Parkland/Dallas. Alexia will be having surgery tonight, after family members return to Dallas after the funeral, for a ruptured spleen. Debbie said the doctors feel pretty strongly that there is brain damage in addition. Pray for strength for Alexia's father, her stepfather, her grandmothers, and all her extended family. This family is still under much stress with not only dealing with bereavement ....they are facing much as Alexia's medical condition is still touch and go at this point. Tricia Parker |

| We have been waiting, waiting, for Scott's records to get from Plano to M D Anderson. They got misdirected and it was a week before we knew the doctor did not have them and then he was out of pocket - in surgery and then off when they were finally located. So today, we heard from Scott's doctor and he will schedule more scans and a biopsy. We are waiting for an appointment time. Please keep us in your prayers. Scott's pain is much better. Still there but not as acute as he was having. Jerry Medley |

| We want to update you on Mary Mattingly's progress, and to thank you all for your prayers, cards and calls. They are so coveted! We are happy to report that Mary's heart surgery went very well. She was moved from CICU to progressive care yesterday afternoon. She has had fibrilation problems, and may need a pacemaker, but other than that, she is doing very well! Please pray for a quick and complete healing for our beloved Mary! Carol Ann & Ted Mattingly |

| Please pray for the release of my husband, George, from the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana. We are part of Missouri East Emmaus Community of Missouri from walk #87 and #88. My children are missing their father dearly. Kathy Just want to update you on mother's illness and to request continued prayers. As you know Mother was admitted to HCMH in Sulphur Springs late Friday afternoon with high fever and complaints of pain. Her white cell count was unbelievably high and IV antibiotics were started. On Saturday she had an ultrasound and a CT scan. Both showed a problem around the Gall Bladder area and in the assending colon on the right side. Some diverticulosis was noted in the lower colon. But nothing really "lit up" the screen. As the evening and night progressed her white count continued to rise and her blood pressure continued to become dangerously low. Around 2:00 am this morning she was transferred from the floor to the ICU, where she was monitored and given meds to improve her blood pressure. Her white count continued to rise, along with the blood pressure. This morning at 10 exploratory surgery was started. Her diseased, enlarged Gall Bladder was removed and the upper colon was noted to be clean; however, the sigmoid (sp) colon was quite inflamed, stretched and folded and had seeped infection into her abdomen. The wonderful, God-led surgical team, removed the diseased section of the colon and built a temporary colostomy. As I write this, Mother is resting as comfortably as possible with a ventilator helping her to breathe. They are keeping her sedated to help her not fight the vent and she will be weaned from it tomorrow. We pray that this will get Mother back on the road to recovery and will "fix" her general complaint of not feeling well. She will spend several days in ICU and then several in a room. She will then be transferred to rehab (again) to help her get back on her feet. We feel she will probably still require a stay in an assisted living facility after the rehab. We covet your prayers and as that you be ruthless in asking God be in her healing and in our hearts to help her deal with her recovery. Nancy Rooks and Annette Horne |

| Annette and I want to thank you so much for your prayers and notes of concern for Mother while she has been in the hospital and rehab. Just to update you--Mother is doing much better and has moved into the Mt. Vernon House Assisted Living facility in Mt. Vernon. She hates it! But then she would hate anything that isn't home. The facility is lovely and the staff and residents have been friendly, warm and welcoming. She just wants to go home but we are resolved that she will stay at Mt. Vernon House until she can be safe at home. A goal is that she walk (with her walker) to the dining room. She is currently in a wheel chair most of the time. Hopefully she will begin to socialize more and get out of her room for more than meals. Again, thank you for your support--prayers, smiles, emails and words of encouragement. We couldn't have made it so well through the last month and a half without you. Nancy Rooks (97-21) Annette Horne (98-32) |

| My father passed away yesterday afternoon and I just wanted the community to know. His name is Macel V. Coleman and he died in Longview following emergency surgery for bowel obstructions. He was 81 and a member at First United Methodist Church in Daingerfield. He will be cremated. No services are planned. We ask for prayers, of course, but we rejoice that Dad went quietly and without pain and suffers no more. John Coleman #94-5 |

| Last September Scott and I were in Colorado where a heart problem surfaced. Then in December he had a kidney removed because of cancer. Now he is facing a fractured vertebra. He has had back pain since early May. It started out as a fairly minor lower back pain and has progressed to almost constant pain, usually severe. We have an appointment Friday at the Texas Back Institute in Plano. Your prayers were such a comfort and support and we thank you for them on our behalf. We request prayers for relief from the pain and repair of the broken vertebra, as well as an explanation of the cause - osteoporosis, or ?? Jerry Medley - Walk 68 - 1995 Scott Medley - Walk 88 - 1996 I am under massive spiritual attack right now. I ask for prayers to help me overcome Satan and his attacks. I need help in areas including Anger, Hatred, Lust, Faithlessness, and Blasphemy. Please, I know prayer works wonders. Trent Futral NET Flight 19 |

| Please add my mother-in-law, Mary Mattingly (Walk #99-40), to your prayer lists. Doctors have discovered a tumor in her heart and are now considering treatment options. She is 80 years old and in good health. She will have a consultation with the surgeon on July 7. Please keep her in your prayers in the coming days, and we will keep you posted regarding her treatment. Carol Ann Mattingly After talking to Chris Milton (03-67) this morning, I have great news on her surgery and her recovery. She was riding in the car with her husband, Jim, to run errands here in Greenville. So, she is doing wonderfully well and is feeling so good. She said the back pain is gone and she only feels some twinges from the incisions. To say the least, God is good...all the time...All the time...God is good. Once again, thank you for your prayers, and please continue. Diane McMeans (95-13) |

| Our sister in Christ, Chris Milton (03-67), will be going into the hospital tomorrow, Thursday, June 24th for back surgery. She will be at The Osteopathic Medical Center of Fort Worth. Her surgery is to begin at 12:00 Noon tomorrow and will take about 3 hours. She will then go to recovery and then will be assigned to a room. Chris will be in the hospital for about 4 or 5 days and will then return to Greenville. She will have to wear a back brace for some time. The recovery time will be 6 to 8 weeks and she will not be able to do anything. In the first two weeks, she will not even be able to get a drink out of the fridge. Please keep Chris, her husband, Jim, and their two teen-children, Andy and Nicole, in your prayers. Also, please pray that our Lord will guide the hands and hearts of the operating team of doctors and nurses. Chris has a wonderful attitude and is ready to go on and get on the road to recovery. I know that Chris would enjoy cards, as she will have a lot of time in recovery. God bless each of you for your love and concern. I'll keep you updated on her condition. | Annette and I want to thank all of our sisters and brothers for their prayers for our mom, Dorothy Bunch. Mother is much improved and has been transferred to the CARE Unit at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital for rehabilitation therapy. Her spirits are good and her pain is lessened. She appreciates everyone's prayers, as Annette and I do, and wants us to thank you for your concern for her and for the notes sent to her. I know that she will read them often as she continues on the road to recovery. Last week, we were not sure she would ever be able to return to her home; today, we believe that independence may indeed be a reality for her. Thank you again for your powerful prayers. Keep it up! | Dorothy Bunch, Walk 97-32, (Anita Hay was the LD); is in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She broke her left hip and had three pins put in on Sunday, June 6. She is in a great deal of pain and has been for some time. She had evidently broken her hip sometime over the last 6 months and had been walking so no one thought about a broken hip. She will go to rehab at the Care Unit at the hospital after she is released from the hospital. Dorothy is the mother of Nancy Rooks and Annette Horne. Please lift Dorothy in your prayers. Elaine |
